Those fobs check in every 20 seconds to confirm they are still present. Normal behavior.

You can toggle Presence timeout to help with this. I have mine set to disabled and the only reporting I see for buttons pushed or held.2019-02-07%2011_10_28-Hall%20Bath%20Fob

This doesn't change the 20 second check in interval, it only changes how many "missed" check ins have to happen before the presence sensor is reported as away.

How IS battery life on those things?

The fobs do this by design. They are presence sensors. I guess as a side note, I only see logged check-ins when I have debug logging enabled. I've never seen battery report status every 20 seconds, so I guess that does seem abnormal to me.

Where will I see this check-in activity? Since I also have both logging options off I'd guess that's why I don't see any of @danfox52 is seeing, correct?

Are you using a custom driver for this?

If you enable debug logging for this device you'll see it in the live logging page.

@destructure00 I'm going with what I don't know won't bug me. :slight_smile: And, assuming battery reporting is accurate all 3 of my Iris Fobs are showing batteries at 100% and they have been in place for at least 4 months.

I saw that too.... So I wonder if 2.0.5 "fixed" it, or introduced an unexpected new "bug". There were also changes in battery reporting in 2.0.5...

So maybe it was wrong before 2.0.5, and is correct now? Seems like reporting battery every 20s is unnecessary, but if that is what the device does on check-in, the logging may be correct.

Yeah all built-in Zigbee sensor drivers got:

Fixed inconsistent/missing battery reports (NOTE: click configure in driver details to update configuration).

Although I don't see anything odd in any of my other Zigbee sensors. I also have a 4-button Fob, but I turned off debug logging a while ago.

Interesting, I haven't upgraded to 2.0.5 yet. On vacation till Sunday, will be interested to see if I start getting tons of battery notifications too after upgrading.

If these are reporting battery every 20 seconds, please hit configure in the driver, the battery reports should terminate.
These devices now use a different means of reporting presence in 2.0.5 and will show an RSSI value with debug logging enabled.
