InvisOutlet - advice on how to proceed with creating a driver

got it working now.. i actually had to physically put the front faceplate on.. i was just testing with it off and when i paired with amazon it saw the device but the advanced matter did not..
once on i reran the identify and discover and it found all kinds of devices..

side questions how is the working.. i paired it first with alexa, then generated a code to hubitat and when i paired it i used my upstairs asus wifi router in ap mode.. but i dont even have ipv6 enabled in my network so how is it working?

The Matter protocol creates its own IPv6-based fabric, so in most cases you don’t need to explicitly enable IPv6 on your router for it to work.

My understanding is that the IPv6 network is created through the thread border routers you have on your network.

so your are saying i am using thread not matter over wifi because i first set it up on alexa.. so if all my (or the one i was close to when pariing)? are down it wont work?

i need to test with the cloud down since it is goling thorugh alexa to see if it still works?

No TBR needed to create the private IPv6 network used by Matter. The Matter Controller will create that, whether or not Thread is used.

by the way it was a good deal on the device a two pack (non pro) version for 39 each.. not too bad.

also i did try the stock invisioutlet driver it found the 2 switches and the illuminance, but not the rgb light control nor the 2 buttons.

No. That device is a Matter over WiFi device, I believe. Even if you have a TBR in your house, it is not involved in the communications between the HE hub and the Matter over WiFi device.

Where/when was that deal available?! I certainly missed it, $90 for two currently... :frowning:
