I am in the process of setting up my new hub. During the update I lost internet briefly. After that I cannot reconnect to my hub. Also, the update ran for over 2 hours before I lost my internet. Is that normal? Any help will be appreciated
Welcome to the Hubitat Community!
Be sure you setup with an Ethernet cable initially if you’re having connectivity issues.
Also consider that if connectivity issues on your Wi-Fi are common, then it’s probably not a good idea to run your hub wirelessly.
Update should not take that long, but there were issues in the update before the most recent. Going forward that should not be an issue but getting to that may need you to reboot the hub from the diagnostic tool and then try the update again. But I would do it from a wired ethernet connection, not a WiFi adapter.
I was using ethernet when this happened. Thats the first time my internet has gone out in 6 months. My luck. I can't access the diagnostic tool either.
.
Was finally able to gain access to diagnostic tool and restored to older version. Working now. Thank you for your help.
Good to hear. I’ll change the title to internet disconnected, not WiFi
An update should only take maybe a minute at most to download, and probably way less than 5 minutes to extract and install. Any longer than 10 minutes start to finish for an update, you probably should be wondering what is going on.
Thanks, I received these instructions from Hubitat support and was able to install the new version. It's great to be connected with people as knowledgeable and eager to help as you are. Maybe this will help someone else.
- Go to http://your.hubs.ip.address:8081/
- Reboot the hub from there, see if it comes up.
- If not, go to http://your.hubs.ip.address:8081/ again, revert to previous version.
- After it comes up, go to http://your.hubs.ip.address:8081/ yet again and "revert" to version 2.2.5.
- It's possible that 2.2.5 is not showing as an option at this point. Use Download latest version to get it onto the hub. Doing so doesn't switch to the downloaded version, so once download is done, use revert option to switch.
- If it still doesn't come up, revert to previous version
