Integration of Tedee Smart Lock

Hey Everyone, I am looking to integrate a Tedee lock in to Hubitat as it is receiving very good reviews. I am happy to donate to a developer to help create the driver for Tedee.

I haven't bought the Tedee yet as I want to make sure it can be integrated.

Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Thank you.

Looks like it is Bluetooth so no direct support.

It's not a compatible device with HE at the moment, and unfortunately I think it's very unlikely that will ever be officially supported because of the Bluetooth connectivity (not used by HE) and Cloud API requirement for integration.

You may see someone develop a community integration at some point, but I doubt the team would be interested in putting in the time on a Cloud integration that works against the local-first philosophy.

Edit: The Cloud API does seem quite usable, so someone might do it if they liked it and wanted it to work I suppose.

It will have to be through the tedee bridge using the cloud API.

There are quite a few lock options that work over zigbee/z-wave that already work with HE that would be recommended over a lock like that though. Especially considering there is no local api endpoint for talking to the lock with net out, at least by reading through some of their documentation.

Danalock was my original choice, but it seems to have a lot of bad reviews.

Looks like there is a HomeBridge plugin that works so that is one possible way of controlling this lock, also has Google and Alexa integrations so another option for indirect control. How close are these to the Nuki Bridge/Lock (there is a community integration for those)?

Thanks for the reply. I will have a look at the homebridge plugin. It seems fairly similar to the nuki bridge and can take both user and pass and Oauth2.0.

I don't need it straight away so may just wait and see. I also have my eyes on Desi UTOPIC (https://www.electroniclock.com/) lock from Turkey, they are supposedly releasing a Z-Wave version (it's currently RF) but we will wait and see.

Here we are over two years later, but I'm also looking closely at Tedee for a new home build. Mostly because I'm in the US and it's been impossible to find any smart lock that works for a multipoint locking system (this seems common for doors in Europe, but not the US). Tedee might be one of the only exceptions, although we're still working to confirm compatibility.

Anyways, the customer service rep I've been talking to says the Tedee GO now uses Thread and they're working on Matter integration soon. So that might change some of the restrictions folks posted above
