Input for Aeotec doorbell 6

The Ecolink sensors are good at ignoring the stray cats in the neighborhood. I’ve been running them outside for a few years.

Those Ecolink sensors look a lot like the Monoprice motion sensors I had installed on the front porch awhile back. They were slow and ended up being replaced. I have other automations tied to the front porch sensors (i.e. lights/notifications for cameras) and found the delay unacceptable. The trade off I made for speed is battery life.

I have a couple of those too. I have them in not so important places. In my laundry, furnace, and garage. The latency isn't noticed in there. I agree, but they were way worse on smartthings.

They have been responding for me in less than a second. Not fast enough for inside occupancy use but plenty fast enough when somebody comes onto the property.
