Inovelli Switch lig6

I have 4 new Inovelli Z Wave light switches installed.

The only time I can get the switch to report on a log file of the switch name is if it is associated with a rule or motion lighting. As you can see from the screenshot below my kitchen light which is on a new inovelli switch and associated with a motion lighting rule, it will display kitchen light on kitchen light off. When I turn on the switch manually or if it is triggered by motion it will read kitchen light on. If I manually turn on the dining room light which is not associated with any rule it does not display dining room light on dining room light off. am I missing something or do these switches have to be associated with some sort of rule to display the device's name?

Do you have descriptive text logging turn on or off for that other switch?

I had it on and then I had it off. Either way it wouldn't report which device.

What I ended up doing was creating a rule that if any of the 3 Inovelli switchs (that are not associated with any type of rule) change state to capture.

That is not necessary. When you have descriptive text logging turned on, it should be logged. What drivers are you using for these devices?

I'm using the Inovelli lzw30 driver.

I just paused the rule and turned on logging. Here what I get. This does not tell me which switch turned on.

@Ryan780
Here what I get if I use the Generic ZWave switch driver.

This is a driver issue. It is recommended to post problems with custom drivers on the same thread that you found the driver. That way the developer can see it. Short of that, you can tag the developer.

So, tagging @Eric_Inovelli. It appears that the custom switch drivers are not logging anything for device actions like the in-built driver.

Eric, can you take a look here?

Man, we Hubitat users just like staring at logs all day huh? :wink:

I've added the device name to the driver just need to post it to Github.
