Inovelli Flicker Issue with EcoSmart Lamps

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Hub: C-8 non-pro, latest updates loaded.

The Device: Inovelli Zigbee wall dimmer switch.

The Problem: Flickering with EcoSmart LED lamps ("bulbs"). I have a number of EcoSmart (Home Despot house brand) candelabra base LED lamps that seem a bit flickery when run with Inovelli wall dimmers.

I am NOT having this issue with my kitchen lights; they are LED devices intended for built-in; they are not screw-base-and-pigtail can conversions, nor are any of my GE A-19 60W-equivalent lamps. Just the EcoSmart.

The Question: If any of you are running candelabra-base LED lamps ("bulbs") with the Inovelli Zigbee wall dimmers with success, please let me know what you are using.

Thanks!

How many of the candelabra bulbs are used with each switch, and what is the wattage of those candelabra bulbs?

The flickering may be due to a minimum load issue, and if so, a bypass (capacitor) could help.

What β€œcolorβ€œ Inovelli switches are you using? I upgraded my Inovelli Blue (Zigbee) switches to the latest firmware, 3.04, and all my flickering problems throughout the house went away.

One fixture has 3 x 5W, the other is 8 x 5W.

Inovelli Blue.

Questions: How do I determine my present firmware edition and how do I run the updates if needed?

Thanks in advance...

I don't have any of these but aren't they capable or leading edge and trailing edge dimming? If so you might want to try each way and see if one behaves better. Trailing edge is supposed to be better for LED bulbs.

I find flickering comes at 100% brightness with some of my Zooz dimmers. I can set a parameter such that max brightness is capped to anything I want so I set it for 95%. You can't see a difference in 5% brightness but that seems to calm down the flickering I was getting. Unfortunately Zooz dimmers are only leading edge (Triac) so I don't have the options to try trailing edge (MOS FET). Maybe Innovelli has a similar setting.

I just found this, but it doesn't seem to provide a firmware edition number.

That's firmware 2.18 (source).

You can update a zigbee device if Hubitat has the update file from the manufacturer and has posted it. I updated all my Blues to 3.04 a while ago, so it should still be available now.

Open the live logs page in a new tab. Click the "Update Firmware - Run" button on the Blue's Commands tab page, and then watch the update progress in the live logs.

For some of my Inovelli Blues, the update to 3.04 took several tries. But I've updated over 50 switch/dimmers now. Once you update, you should see this:

EDIT: HOWEVER, after you update, if you (1) select Driver as Type and Save, (2) go to Commands and click on EVERY "Delete All ..." button, and (3) change the driver back to "Inovelli Dimmer 2-in-1 Blue Series VZM31-SN" and Save, then you should see this:

I figured out how to run the updates and the logs show that everything "took".
