Inovelli Fan switch Hue bulb

I just recently installed the Inovelli fan and light switch. The switch works been working perfectly. My daughter now wants one in her room, but her dan has a hue color bulb. I know their switches are able to control smart bulbs by disabling the internal relay. Would I be able to install this without losing functionality of either the smart bulb or the fan?

That's probably a better question for the Hubitat forum here:

Yes, I have one of these (the LZW36) controlling the fan as normal with Hue bulbs in the light kit of this fan. From the device itself, you can use a special button press sequence to disable local control of just the light (or fan) component, which is what I've done. I then use the button (Z-Wave "scene") events in Hubitat to control the Hue bulbs as I wish--for example, a single tap turns them on or off, and the side buttons dim up or down.

From the driver, I'm pretty sure you can only enable or disable local or remote control for the entire device, which isn't what you want (and I can't imagine why anyone would...) since you still need regular control of the fan. I believe this is a limitation of Z-Wave or at least the device firmware, so that's why I mentioned that I set this configuration on the device itself. In this case, holding one of the "side" (dimmer) buttons next to the top/light button and tapping the light button 8 times will enable or disable local control for that button. You'll see the LED bar next to the light button flash red if you just disabled it (which you want) or green if you just enabled it.

The next issue would be how to make the button events do what you want in Hubitat, but that's another story. Using Button Controller or Rule Machine with a "Button Device" trigger are two easy enough, built-in ways. You won't need to do this for the fan component since you won't have disabled any kind of local (or remote) control there.
