Inoveli Blue switch to fan canopy connection not working

I have a blue switch VZM31-SM and an inoveli fan canopy I am trying to get working. I have both paired to hubitat successfully, ZigBee bound using the directions here (via dual ZigBee bindings)

I updated the driver on hubitat package manager and set smart bulb mode on and fan control mode to 'cycle'.

However, when I click any switch buttons nothing happens. Is there something wrong with my switch setup? Maybe my fan is not compatible with inoveli?

I don't know much about these, but reading the directions, the firmware version of the Inovelli needs to be a certain revision (or higher?) to allow this to work. Is the firmware at a revision that Inovelli claims is necessary?

Hard to tell without a brand, model, and possibly a picture of the wires in the fan.

Canopy connection

That picture is unfortunately not helpful since none of us know what fan you have or what how its wiring works.

You may be better off posting this question in the Inovelli Support Community since more canopy users are there. I'd recommend adding your fan's name & model # to your post there so other users can help confirm a.) is the fan is compatible to begin with, and if so, then b.) help confirm wiring is correct, and c.) help confirm your binding setup is correct.

I don't have a Blue set up with a canopy module, but I thought that particular setup involved using the Blue's Config button for the binding and fan operation, but I could very well be wrong about that.

I am not certain, as we don't know what fan brand/model this is, but I think you have it hooked up wrong.

Notice on the diagrams from Blue Series Fan/Light Canopy Module • Wiring Schematics | Inovelli Help Center you should have a wire from the fan itself (the neutral/white) to the house wiring.

Again, without knowing the exact fan model, I suspect that blue should be to blue, but beyond that, it is hard to tell. I suspect that the red and yellow and grey are motor, but I doubt that all should be hooked to one like you have it. Also, I think you are missing a wire up there someplace, if it is like most fans with L-M-H and a light, you probably should have 6 wires, unless they have something split off further down.

You didn't happen to take a picture or take notes of where things were hooked to before you put this module in, did you? That would really help to simplify things if you had that.

I have updated the switch firmware to 2.18 and reset the ZigBee bindings and switch preferences. The canopy red fan wire is hooked up to gray, red, yellow wires (motor v, w, u respectively) and canopy blue light wire is hooked up to blue, brown (to light) wires. The fan model is Fanimation Kute5 52"
