When you say messaging, are you referring to logs being recorded on the HE hub, or are you wanting to receive notifications on your phone, or something else?
Depending on the answer, my suggestion may be to:
Turn on any logging options available for the device in the Preference Settings section of the Device Details page. Devices will often have Information and Debug logging options that can be turned on.
At the bottom of the same Device Details page for the lock, look at the Apps that use the lock and, apart from any dashboards, turn on logging for those apps as well
If you are after longer term records of the lock usage, events for devices can also be sent to external storage options like a database or file.
If you are after notifications, that would likely require some form of a rule / app to detect the lock being used and sending you a notification to your phone. A similar approach may be useful for capturing logs as well.
I am interested in getting messages as to who used the door lock at what time. I had messages something to this effect... ."Front door unlocked by john at 15:50" Does this help???
The built-in Notifications App will be what you want.
If you install this from the Apps page and setup a notification for your lock device, you could setup something like I have shown below. This produces a notification to my phone when the test lock is unlocked, letting me know who (the name of the lock code) unlocked the lock and when.
If you did that, then you are likely not connected to the hub in the mobile app, which would mean you would not receive notifications. Either that, or you have created more than one mobile device when connecting to the hub at different times in the mobile app and you may have selected the wrong one.
Wow .. Learn something new every day !
Never saw that app in the list .. wanted this for a few things!
I wish some of this stuff was automatically added when you get the darn hub!
Thanks for the heads up !
