In Wall Outlet Recomendations

Thanks...I can't seem to find any Jasco/Enbrighton that do.

They seem to be out of stock at byjasco.com

Have you considered using an in-box energy-monitoring zigbee relay behind a regular outlet? Something like this:

It can handle a capacitive load (like a TV) of up to 10A.

Available on Amazon; the documentation indicates it uses the standard ZHA 1.2 cluster for power reporting.

No, I had not. I've used this kind of thing before behind light switches really early on.

Nice workaround. Will give it some thought.

If you do go this route, just make sure that your TV's Amp draw is under 10A. My LG pulls about 2.5A.

A little late to this recent discussion, but I honestly would have a hard time recommending any of the current in-wall receptacles.

The older non-TR Zwave Jascos are still solid, The TR Zigbee models seem to die easily.

The Legrand Netatmo Zigbee 3 WNRR15WH & WNRR20WH work ok, but some units (not all) seem to ignore power reporting settings and spam the hell out of the mesh.

Unfortunately Jasco seems to be limited to one receptacle at this time, Legrand is hugely overpriced, and hard to get a deal on, although the 20A receptacle is nice for code compliant kitchen receptacles.

I had precicesly one Leviton in the past and it failed early on.

It's odd to me that Zooz hasn't released one, and while Inovelli makes great products, their availability is always limited.

I won't even look at products that go in my walls that aren't UL listed, so that leaves out all those random AliExpress/baba/Amazon brands...

A Sad state of affairs for sure.

Great response. Thanks!

Hey, they've only had a little over 25 years to come up with a good wall outlet (sigh) :upside_down_face:

But in not "in wall" to meet the objective of the topic..
