I have been cleaning up my office and museum of dead technology and uncovered a treasure trove. I found all my Home Automator magazines, StarGate manual and all my original notebooks with my designs for devices, scenes, rooms, events, timers, and triggers.
At the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas we had to setup some lighting for a new bar stage they threw together. This was probably 1994. We weren't allowed to spend any real money on it.
We got hold of a circuit breaker panel, grabbed some par cans and cables from the theaters, and a bunch of X-10 switches. Set everything up and gave the band a multi-scene remote and as far as I know they used that setup for a number of years.
Pretty humorous for a billion dollar hotel. All the theaters had state of the art lighting systems. Even the dome where the stage was had impressive lighting and a 30 watt argon laser projector. That little stage chugged along with its mighty X-10 setup. ![]()
x10 was first system. I got rid of a garbage bag full of stuff just this year. We moved and I stumbled across it cleaning out the attic.
