i've recently added an ikea tradfri plug. it works fine from the devices page and via google home integration but the dashboard version (using "outlet" for the device) just hangs.
any pointers to debugging? thanks!
Maybe try the switch tile
I know you said it worked from the device page, but does everything work? Besides the command actually turning the outlet on or off, make sure the "switch" attribute value under "Current States" gets updated. This usually takes under a second for me. If not, Dashboard is probably just waiting for a response.
To fix this, make sure you're using the correct driver, "Trådfri Outlet." If you already are or if you had to switch to this driver, give the "Configure" button (command) a click on the device page. That has fixed this problem for many cases I've seen here.
good idea. i tried it but the switch tile hangs in the same way.
to be clear: it works. it does toggle the state of the plug. but the tile itself hangs. other stuff i should look into?
....and the "configure" button did the trick.

Been bugging me for a while too. Configure sorted it for me as well...
Any time you change a driver you need to mash that configure button.
