Identifying the Konnected Configuration: Pins vs Zones

I have Konnected set up, all apps, and drivers loaded into Hubitat. I tried out my first window sensor and everything works great when I installed it in Pin D1. I started to add other sensors, but ran into two questions, probably simple ones, but I couldn't search for similar questions here or at Konnected support:

  1. I have a 6 zone board and it has "Pin D1, Pin D2. (no Pin D3), Pin D4, Pin D5, Pin D6, Pin D7, Pin D8 and Pin RX." listed under my configuration. In the Konnected/Hubitat installation, these are listed as "Zones." I assume the Pin D1 relates to the zones, but since they skip over D3, and add an "RX," I am just a tad confused as to how these all match up.

  2. More of a tech question: for Pin D3 and Pin D8, when I click on the options, they have a limited set of choices for items I can choose. For Pin D3, they only have Temp/Hunid Sensor and Temp Probe. For Pin D8 they have Siren/Strobe, and a few different kinds of switches. Perhaps if I know the answer to #1, I could answer this one, but right now, I assume I need to avoid plugging anything into Pin D3 and Pin D8 if it is a window or door sensor?

Thanks for the help!!

Someone with more technical prowess that I will come along and give you a better answer (@ogiewon, @nate), but in the meantime here is the gist of it.

The connected board you have is based off of the esp8266/nodemcu boards and their pin outs have various limitations. There is a decent rundown on the Konnected website for Contact and Motion sensor pins.
https://docs.konnected.io/security-alarm-system/wiring/contact-sensors/#

Here is also a couple of images that Dan provided me a while back that were very helpful.

Essentially the device that can be put on each pin is limited to how that pin functions. They are not all equal so options you are presented are a hardware limitation.

In the Konnected app, there's a setting to change the pin mapping. Use the "Konnected" mapping if you have Konnected branded hardware or use the "NodeMCU" mapping if you're using the generic NodeMCU module or breakout board.

It sounds like you're using the NodeMCU mapping with Konnected hardware, thus the confusion because the numbers don't match up exactly. Just go to Change pin mapping in the App setup.

As always, thanks for the quick replies, and Nate, that is exactly what I did wrong. Much appreciated!
