I am using the lastest and greatest hub with the latest and greatest software. I Previously added her as a user, but there is no way for me to see users on the hub i think. She forgets her password. There is nowhere for her to reset her password. Help.
On Android all I did was install the app on her device and log in with my credentials. I was also able to add her phone as a pr4esence sensor.
same here w/ iphone
The problem is that she will have access to all the admin stuff. I just want her to be able to control Dashboards.
Maybe she dosen't care... just like my wife.
Watching to see if anyone knows how to do this…
An alternative is to use the cloud link to the dashboard. You can add a link to the dashboard to the phones home page.
You might find this project interesting. You\she can pick what you want to control and leave out all the management stuff. Nothing to install and browser based so it works on Android and IOS.
Or you can experiment with it here which is an instance running on my old C-5 and using a collection of virtual devices for demonstration purposes.
Could you not simply add a link to the specific dashboard you wish her to access?
Create a dashboard just for her. You can save as an icon on an iPhone.
I don’t think this is something you can control with admin/guest user roles.
Either account, once logged into the mobile app, can access everything.
Guest users can’t add new user accounts to a hub. I don’t recall what (if any) other restrictions there are on guest user privileges. Guest account probably can’t deregister a hub either, but that’s not that relevant to the discussion.
Unless you need the mobile app to be logged in on her phone for use as a mobile presence sensor (or to receive push notifications from the hub), I agree with others who have suggested saving a bookmark to the dashboard she uses on her phone’s Home Screen.
One benefit to a dashboard link would be the ease / speed of access compared to the app (I think). Perhaps it would be nice if a widget was included as part of the app that could link to a dashboard, if only in Android.... . That gives me an idea...
