Not on purpose. I forgot where I was and installed the beta on the Mac.
It wouldn't recognize the QR code when I tried to SS add a device.
Interesting.

Just tried it and it worked for me (though I can't imagine this being the easiest way to do it ). The camera on most older MacBooks doesn't have the best resolution or low-light performance, both of which might be important for a QR code you're holding near the device itself, so if it just never caught on to the fact that there was a QR code in its face, that's probably it. Continuity Camera would probably give you better luck (or the M4 models if that's not what you have).
Brand new. M4 I believe.
I donβt think focus is too sharp at close distance but that could be because of lighting.
Iβll try it again with a test device in the light of day.
For laughs.
Did not read QR code in the daylight.
Front-facing cameras like this are rarely great quality, though I know the M4 MBPs got an upgrade, which is why I called that out above. It's possible they're still not up to this task for the same reasons as above. If you have an iPhone, you can see if Continuity Camera, as I also mention, gives you better luck since the rear camera on any recent (and even not) iPhone is probably leaps and bounds better. But I tested, and the app does work for this for me.
Or just use that phone in the first place, I suppose.
I'm new to Mac world. I'll have to check out Continuity Camera.
