Humidifier

My ecobee is reporting humidity, not controlling it - I'm now trying to control it separately. The humidifier used to run completely independently of the HVAC system with its only controls being a simple humidistat in the return trunk.

My impression was the OP was in a similar boat since he seemed to be looking to add simple control to what he had.

I was just sharing that none of the frost/moisture prevention routines ever recommend humidity that high in the winter. If you turn it on in the ecobee as an accessory (since it's not connected this won't really do anything), you can see what ecobee recommends the humidity to be based upon temperature. They have a setting (similar to Aprilaire and others) from 1 to 7. Ecobee uses this a window efficiency. The others allow it to bump up the humidity level when controlled. They are really the same.
