Hue motion sensor delay

Hello

I have a hue motion sensor linked directly with hubitat C7 and use it to turn on Lutron Ra2 Select dimmers. At first when I linked it detected motion instantly and turned on the lights, now 2/3 times it doesn’t turn on the lights and I would have to move a lot for it to turn it on. And sometimes there’s a 5-6 second delay. Any idea how I can fix this? This happened after I disconnected my router (my internet wasn’t working) and then I felt this happen. Thanks

Is the delay in the sensor reporting or the control going out to Lutron? You can find out by look at the motion sensor's status in Hubitat relative to when motion actually begins. If the sensor updates instantly but the lights take a few seconds to come on, the problem isn't the sensor.

Since rebooting your router, have you rebooted hubitat?
Does your hub have a static IP?
How long has this problem been going on?

I've seen this misbehavior with the Hue Motion Sensor when the battery was running low.

Hello,

The problem seems to have gone away by itself. I’ve restarted everything but That didn’t work and suddenly it did. Battery on sensor is 37%. Not sure what the problem was but will report it again if it happens. Also the motion sensor detected motion but didn’t turn on the lights. So it could be an issue with Lutron receiving the command

I think that is probably the relevant information. Make sure everything is assigned static IP addresses. Otherwise you might just need to reboot the HA devices whenever you reboot your router.

I find that whenever I reboot my Lutron bridge or my router I have to "initialize" my connection with Lutron from within Hubitat. Otherwise my pico presses aren't captured until the 3rd or 4th one. So, that might have been what you were experiencing. I think when the websocket connection goes down, recovery isn't instant.
