Hubitat have not done a great job in differentiating their product 'Elevation' from their company name 'Hubitat' . I see the confusion cropping everywhere where the product is referenced as 'Hubitat'.

Aren't they one and the same? Or maybe even both are part of the name?
I don't think I have ever heard it called just the Elevation hub.
I think... From the winky face... This is a joke?
But honestly, I'm not aware of any other product they sell? I suppose a case could be made for services, e.g. Hub Protect and Remote Access - but those still apply to the same physical product...
Might be something to this... I had been asking friends, "Which is the best hub?" for many months, and their answer was consistently, "Hubitat". I hadn't realized the company was Hubitat and the product is known as Elevation. Nor that the Elevation controllers were distinguished by model numbers like C-4 and C-7 (are there others?).
The same confusion vexed an earlier company, known as MiCasaVerde, whose product was the Vera controller, which came in various flavors (Plus, Secure, Edge, etc.). But that company also called itself MiOS, and when that company got purchased by ezlo -- who promptly began naming their new controllers all "ezlo" with models like "Plus", "Secure" and "Edge" -- it was like being in a time warp.
Which brings me back to your point: Yep, there could be a lot more differentiation between company-product-models, but somehow ... for now ... just saying HUBITAT seems to get the point across.
The C-3 was the first Hubitat Elevation made available to the public. It became a C-4 when they grew big enough to have their own batch of products made, I presume, because it had the green swirl/home logo on top, which the C-3 didn't. (I have both.)
The C-3 and C-4 are the same except for the silkscreen logo on the top. Both use an external USB ZWave/Zigbee stick from Nortek.
The C-5 is similar, except the radios are internal and you'd have to buy the correct hub for your region on the planet.
My wink was really referring to their PR department
Of course it's not a current issue but if and when they have multiple products it could be...
Every post on other forums references a 'Hubitat' hub rather than 'Elevation'. It's obviously important to build both the company image and the product.
.... Elevation 2 ?
You'll see a lot of "HE" which I've always read as Hubitat Elevation.
Hubitat® and Hubitat Elevation® are both trademarks of Hubitat, Inc. If you look at the back of a hub, you will see the name of the product sold by the company. Elevation is how high above sea level you are.
So Hubitat Elevation is the name of the hub so the abbreviation HE is also very valid. I misunderstood I guess that the hub was named ‘Elevation’ from ‘Hubitat’
Just to complete…
C-5 has internal radios for Zigbee and Z-Wave but this last is for American frequency. Other frequencies, and European (my case) requires an external dongle which was provided.
I think the "Marketing and PR dept" is likely the person who occasionally updates the web site, among many other duties. Hubitat is a fantastic company, with great engineers, and they've "found their tribe" to quote the marketer Seth Godin. Great work on their part, and kudos to them for doing it. Marketing and PR in the traditional sense are not at the forefront of their focus, though, and I also find the naming a little bit confusing. But it works for them, and it works for most of us, and that's far better than what we see from many other companies.
