I have just seen a video on YouTube about Streamdeck and at first glance it looked perfect for me - a customisable remote that I can use to control my HE Hub, a bit like a physical version of the desktop.
But then I noticed it's only intended to function when connected to a computer. Is there a way around this? What I would like to do is to be able to have that set up as a portable remote?

The Stream Deck is a dumb USB powered display with really slick computer software. It can't run alone. It can also do only a limited set of Hubitat actions via the Maker API.
You'd be much better off with a cheap tablet for a Hubitat remote.
(However, I definitely endorse a Stream Deck if you sit at a desktop computer a lot. They are great tools and you don't need to be a streamer, I think it's a terrible name.)
