Hubitat / Schlage Encode / Alexa

Newbie here so I thank you in advance for your assistance.

Goal: when garage door is unlock then turn on garage walkway lights.

Currently alexa can control the door locks, I have tried setting up a scene and also virtual button in hubitat but cant seem to get this to work. What I did notice was instead of turning on the lights, it turned off the slide bar on the inovelli switch, which makes me think I was close to getting this figure out. Any assistance is greatly appreciated

Could you post more details? Schlage Encode locks aren't supported by Hubitat, so you should simply set this up as an Alexa routine.

Expose the switch that controls your walkway lights to Alexa. And setup a routine that uses the lock unlocking as trigger to turn on that switch.

So I have exposed the switch that controls the walkway lights. Alex will turn them on and off as directed. Alex will also lock and unlock the door as directed. I just cant seem to get the routine linking between them to work. Maybe I am just missing something as this seem like it should be simple. I will keep digging...

Does Alexa permit you to use that lock in any routine?

FWIW, Alexa has no issue doing that routine with a Hubitat-paired lock that is exposed to Alexa (although, in this instance, it is wiser to leave all the logic on Hubitat)

The odd part is that I can run the routine in alexa, and the lights do come on but the door really never unlocks (so somehow thats being faked in the routine). It seems like the link between alexa and the schalge is the issue.

I can voice command alexa to unlock the door, I have to say a pin code but the door does not unlock. So until I can get alexa to unlock the door I guess I can not expect the routine to work.

Looks like I might have a wifi issue or lag in communication, I have been able to occasionally unlock the door thru alexa door unlock button, just not consistently as I some times get a return error ("there is a problem with garage door"). However when I did get it to unlock via alexa and I look at activity the routine was not triggered to run

The error states "server unresponsive"

Well I was able to use another door that was not having wifi issues and have the same result. Not sure what I am doing incorrectly

You might have better luck with Alexa support, since you're doing this using Alexa routines.
