@bravenel Today, I was moving over some of my last devices to Hubitat. Once of these is a Zigbee PEQ Moisture / Temperature Sensor. I was able to pair the device quickly to Hubitat. All three attributes populated reasonably quickly (Water, Temperature, & Battery), so the Generic Zigbee Moisture Sensor driver is working fine.
I then decided to set up my first Hubitat Safety Monitor "Water" rule. No matter what I tried, I could not get it to actually send a SMS text message or turn on a light. I was able to create the desired results using Rule Machine. But since Hubitat Safety Monitor is somewhat important to end-users who want to know if their house has any issues, I figured I should report the problem here in case Hubitat was not yet aware of the issue.
Here is what my Hubitat Safety Monitor rule looks like.
I’m not receiving alert text messages with version 702 if “Use every water sensor” is enabled. If I disable and just select all my sensors, I do get alert text messages. Tested with a light also activating, and it also does not turn on when “Use every water sensor” is enabled.
Forgot to revisit this. Just confirming that “Use every water sensor” is indeed functioning now. Thank you.
Side note:
I hope not to lose the text notification ability once we have push notifications available. The 10 text per day limit is fine. This enables spouses, other family members, and friends to be our “eyes” for critical events, without the need to install apps.
I mention this because Insteon made the decision to change their SMS service to push notification in 2015, requiring you to know the carrier and specific Email to SMS address in order to continues to receive text notifications. This was a financial decision based on their ability to offer service without fee. I’m hoping you will decide to keep the SMS ability, if not for everyone, at least for paid subscribers.
Is there a cooldown period before HSM will send another water alert via Pushover? I was testing my water sensors earlier and I got a pushover alert on the first sensor but the following tests on the next water sensor just triggered the HSM app but no pushover alert.
Sometimes Pushover seems to get clogged up with notifications. There is no cool down period in HSM. I've seen the same thing myself with Pushover, but it also clears up. Check the Pushover app on your phone, see what it has for notifications.
That includes high priority and non high priority notifications? Is really nice when you have pushover in a silenced phone but if your house is burning then it will sound anyway, or is it's just the mailman then vibrating only is fine.
