Does HE have any such thing as printer integration support? If it did, I would want to be able to write RM rules or Webcore pistons. An example would be creating a piston to create and print a report on the status of all the switches in the house.
My use case was not particularly the best. There are several examples of where printing could benefit a home automation environment. Recently, Alexa added voice commands to print shopping lists on a discovered printer and to print calendar schedules and to-do lists.
The HE dashboards are more than just control points for switches and plugs and my most recent dashboards have included status and security information on the state of the home.
Printing a dashboard that contains key information might be one key feature. There's a lot of information that could be gathered over time in the use of automations such as the frequency of the use of switches, the state of presence, and historical information about the home network in general.
The ability to accumulate, and ultimately format this data in dashboards, html pages, and printed output will be a key asset in a Smart learning SOHO environment.
I have several informational items on my system that create spoken reports using Echo Speaks, screen data reports using dashboards, and now I believe that printing or even data output into tabular spreadsheets makes sense.
One simple example of the type of data of interest might be the following dashboard...again, one example of many. Don't shoot the messenger.
