All repositories fail:
Skipping a bad manifest XXXX. java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke method contains() on null object Please notify the package developer
As recommended on another old thread, I've tried static IP and manual DNS server with the same outcome. Github.com ping works:
What version of hpm are you running?
v1.9.7, I thought it updates itself too, I've updated to .8 and it resolved the issue.

HPM looks for available updates and presents the option:
Highly NOT recommended is to have HPM automatically perform updates. The default is Never:
HPM presents a list of Packages that have updates, allowing Us to pick and choose the order of upgrade.
