So my hubitat has been working with no problem for almost 2 years. i set it up and did my schedules and such, every other month or when i remember i go in and update the firmware if there's any new update and check package manager and update whatever app needs updating.
I haven't added much in the past year neither apps or devices and changed a bunch of batteries because they were dead so i decided to change all batteries even if they needed changing or not because i got a good deal in all the batteries during black Friday.
Well since about 3 or maybe 4 firmware updates ago i started noticing that some schedules started misbehaving.
Example.
I work early i get up at 2Am and leave the house about 2:45am every day. I have a rule that from 2am untill 4:30am if my front door is to be opened certain lights come on and stay on for 10 minutes only from Mon to Fri.
Lately the lights will come on some times and others not at all. i will come home in the afternoon after that morning the lights didnt come on and they will be on and i have to manually turn them all off.
Using zooz light switches for this rule.
You don't explain what you've done to try and solve this and if you did nothing, possibly that's the best news ever I'd start with grabbing a backup. Then use settings to turn off the hub, unplug it at the wall. (We advise that because you don't want that tiny microUSB connector to break inside.) Let it dissipate power for 30 seconds and plug it back in. (This step resets the Z-Radios that will not reset any other way.) Then restore the backup you just created. (The combination of exporting a backup and then importing (restoring) it cleans out any problems that may have crept in during the updates.)
In addition to @csteele's solid advice can you post a screen shot of your rule and your zwave details page? You might also turn on logging for the rule so you catch it next time around.
Also have you done the recent zwave firmware update? It is done from the zwave details page and is not automatically applied when you do a regular update.
I double checked the rule first disabled that rule and made a new one to test but that was doing the same thing I did reset the hub but didn't do the backup part. i will do that and i will see if anything changes in the coming days after i have tested the rule in the am when i leave to work.
i never unplug the hub because like you said i don't trust that plug so i do the restart and shutdown from the control panel.
Let me do what you suggested and go from there.
Restart and Shutdown have no effect on the Z-Radios. Only a loss of power will reset them. Shutdown is a good start because the only way to get it back is a power cycle, but the shutdown alone does not cut power to the radios.
didnt know about that update i will do that also. because now thinking about it i also have a couple of ikea plug repeaters and they also started to turn off whenever they want to.
