Question about matter devices added with google home.
I added 3 matter outlets to hubitat using google home. How does the naming work with this scenario? Is the naming completely seperate or do they sync up? Doesnt seem to is why I ask.
Should I also connect the outlets with the google home integration in hubitat to sync them or will that mess anything else up because they were added with matter? Will I get duplicate devices if i do that?
Naming doesn’t sync. When someone adds a matter device to Hubitat, they give it name. If you want the names to match, you’ll need to manually do it.
With Matter devices, there is no need to sync them back. You could cause a loop doing that. Matter is bi-directional sync so acting on the device via Hubitat or Google Home will not affect their status as it will stay the same in both systems.
