I purchased a single Hubitat for testing. I really, really like what it offers, what a great product. BUT...what I cannot find out is how to control multiple Hubitats from a central location (my Android phone). I saw online that the Android App only supports a single Hubitat per login...so basically I would have to log out/login to each place every time I want to switch to another location. That is not acceptable for me as I will be switching back and forth too constantly.
What am I looking to do? Simple...just control devices (turn on/off) and check status of devices. That is it. Anything more I will go locally to the device via VPN and web interface.
If anyone has a work around (even not using the App if there is something else out there) please let me know. I am hoping that Hubitat is working around the single device limitation on the App. I can see a LOT of potential if a user can easily switch from multiple Hubitats in multiple locations.
I am controlling devices on my 3 hubs with the app. 2 of the hubs have their devices shared to the 3rd one. On that 3rd one, I have all my dashboards. Works without issue. Is this what you are looking for?
In the phone app, go to the Settings, from there you select Hub and then pick a hub. You don't have to log out, you are simply switching hubs.
Alternatively, if your hubs are on the same network, you can Hubmesh the devices between hubs. So you could send hub A devices to hub B, and then control everything through hub B. So in this case everything would appear in one location on the app.
If you are talking about hubs on different networks, or different locations, sharing between hubs is a bit harder. There are (were? been a while since I looked) community based apps where you can share hubs.
The other way doesn't require sharing devices at all, and might be the simplest way. You can send a dashboard link to your phone or anyone's phone, and they open up the URL in a browser. You can bookmark that link so you have access to either hub on any browser you use, and cut out the Hubitat app completely.
I would recommend doing this regardless, it is much quicker to load the dashboard directly with the link than going through the app. You can even export the bookmark to your home screen (on iPhone anyway, assume on Android also), then it looks like it is just another app and launches in its own little browser window.
Thank you to all that responded, and super quick I might add !!!
I like these solutions and I will try and see which one suits me. I do like the option of a dashboard link...
As long as ALL the hubs are registered to the same email. If you have multiple hubs registered to differing emails, you'll need separate logins. I maybe imagining things, but think I recall reading you can share hubs between email accounts, ie: share your hub registered under your email, to your brother with a different email.
