So my C8 Pro says it found a matter compatible device, I've not enabled Matter, but I recently bought a Echo Spot and it matches that IP addr. Is there any advantage to turning on matter for just that one device. I tried and also tryed to follow directions to adding the Echo Spot, but there dosen't seem to be a way of adding it like the instustions say there is. Any advice would be appreciated.
I don’t think Hubitat can do much with an echo spot over Matter?
@marktheknife is correct. If that is your only matter enabled device and you don’t have plans on getting more there is no need to enable matter. Also, not much Hubitat does with an Echo either. If you had other matter devices you could share them between the two but nothing directly with the two.
I actually don’t know if it can be added as an actual device.
I doubt it, or if it could, you couldn’t do anything with it.
Actually that's what I was hoping it could do as it would have been nice to have added the echo as a device.
I think that is a no go. I have several but never tried adding one.

If the Echo is added as a matter device, can it be used for announcements?
I very much doubt you’d be able to do anything with it, assuming it could even complete a matter pairing process (which also seems unlikely).
