I’m quite a novice to Hubitat and am hoping someone can help me get my Hubitat working again… I get the following error message when trying to view my dashboard in the app.
I have tried to delete all dashboards, all devices, even reset my Hubitat manually (as far as I’m aware) in hopes of just starting fresh and the message still shows up.
I am having this issue as of yesterday afternoon. Everything was fine, nothing changed until nothing worked at all and this is the message I get when trying to open the dashboard. I just tried logging into the hub via web address and it takes me to setup new hub as if it had never been setup? Oh my Pleas help!
As my heart hasn't resumed normal rhythm from the thought of having to rebuild everything, I just tried again to log into the hub via computer and home network. It opened, again, to the initial / setup screen with a green background (sorry, I didn't screenshot it). However I noticed at the bottom, in small print, there was an option to “reset Hub?” I chose that, it opened and offered several recent backups to restore. I selected one several days back. It restored and then rebooted the hub, and that seems to have fixed it.
BUT... If anyone has input or suggestions, what happened and how do we avoid this?
I know this is an older thread but not finding too much info on it. I am BRAND new to Hubitat. Coming from Vera (9 years). I setup Hubitat 2 weeks ago but haven't done anything with it yet. Went to start adding devices today and getting the error from this thread. I have not configured anything so far. I tried to restore to a backup, the earliest available, but did not fix the problem. I also deleted the dashboard and reinstalled. I can get to the dashboard with a direct link but clicking on the dashboard title in the left side menu still gives the error. Of course, I tried rebooting as well. Not sure what to try next? @bobbyD
I just did a soft reset since I really haven't done much with the device yet. That seemed to work. Not sure exactly what caused it but hopefully it doesn't happen again.
Welcome BobBGeneric. You will find a great deal of wisdom here (by others here I mean).
I'll tell you what ended up being my issue and how it was corrected.
Back during Texas "SnowVid", all of our power was out. As electricity came back on-line, all my devices began coming alive as well. As with some other things, order is important. My HE is connected via LAN to a wireless access port. HE booted up before the MESH network was ready so HE was requesting an IP address. It got one but one different than originally assigned. This made it "invisible". Two solutions: assign a static IP address (this is for people smarter then me), OR,
make sure the MESH is operational before HE boots up. In this scenario, the mesh is ready with IP addresses already assigned and waiting for devices to join. In this order, MESH is up, HE joins and her IP address is there waiting. All is well in the kingdom again.
(At least until I add or upgrade something)
