Hubitat Dashboard

Which device works best with Hubitat for loading HE dash boards to used to control all my devices at home? Android Table , Fire Fire HD or Ipad?

I'd say it's mostly down to preference--Dashboards are just webpages, so any device with a modern browser could technically work. A regular Android tablet would probably get you the most customization options, though Fire tablets aren't too far behind (may need a bit of work to get past default Amazon restrictions). Some people use an Android app called Fully Kiosk Browser on either of these to get Dashboards full screen with minimal effort. iPadOS/iOS is probably, as is characteristic of Apple, the least flexible, though not unusable by any means.

You'll also get a lot of people pushing you towards automation rather than manual control. I rarely use Dashboards anymore except to see certain device status at a glance (e.g., temperature), so I guess I'm one of those people now. Maybe a long-term goal, depending on your use and what you want out of Hubitat. Otherwise, again, pretty much anything you have should work if you can make the device do what you want with the browser.

I agree with @bertabcd1234's assessment of the zeitgeist around automation vs remote control. Most of my automations just happen. Otherwise my primary input device is Alexa but I still do love me a dashboard and I am constantly using mine. I use an iPad and MacBooks, which I have scattered throughout the house. That is not their sole function, though. The kitchen iPad shares HE responsibilities with recipes, the kitchen MacBook is used for email and Facebook, and so on. I have considered dedicated, wall-mounted Android tablets but just haven't gone there yet,

I have 5 Fire HD tablets mounted in my house, all with dashboards. I love them. My wife is somewhat impressed. I use Fully with all of them. I'm very happy with this setup. But I am always tweaking the dashboards.

This was very helpful, I was already leaning towards Android. I do use alot of automation. The tablet is for when am in bed watching television and do not want to use voice commands , and want to turn off lights or close the blinds or view cameras.

Thanks, am glad to hear the Fire HD can work.

I've been using older Android phones as small bedside dashboards. Wife likes it if I don't say "Hey Google turn off all the lights" while she is sleeping or "turnon the coffee pot" in the morning while she is still sleeping. Hmmm, maybe she just sleeps too much.

I love sharptools, and although I'm a huge fan of automation, I do enjoy the option of being able to have certain things available to see/influence manually too.

Perfect examples... Part of my dash shows if there's lights on anywhere, and allows me to co trol them from there. Ditto for motion at a glance. And my favourite (and my initial reason for leaving that POS platform, smartthings)....my custom central heating which I'm incredibly proud of. =p
