Given the new rooms feature for hubitat I want to keep my device name's simple only relative to the room they are in. The problem with that is Hubitat dashboards does not seem to allow an option to display room information on the dashboard card. I would like some sort of capability to display room information on the cards in the dashboards, or some way to customize it to put it there myself.
Rooms is in very early development. We do not yet know the direction it will take, according to the developers. We can certainly ask for things, but don’t be surprised if it isn’t implemented.
An alternative option that could be nice would be another column added so you could have a column in the Devices tab that has all the details of the device and then another column that has the preferred display name for the dashboards. That way you could have like "Guest Bathroom Sink Leak Sensor" in the main column and then "Sink Leak Sensor" in the display name column...
