Per the title I have a c-8 hub that is about 7 months old and had been working fine but no longer powers up at all.
I've tried multiple power adaptors and cables that work with other devices but don't even get the LED temporarily lighting on the hubitat.
I'm a few months past the 3 month warranty so I assume a replacement is unlikely but are there any other options to try?
@user7144 Do you have a hub protect sub?
There are always options, especially with our low rate of defects and being such a new hub. Sending you a private message with more details.
Thanks for the prompt replies. rligthgow1, no I don't have a protect sub and am just keeping my own backups at the moment.
The issue may have resolved, though I haven't been able to diagnose the cause or whether it's temporary or permanent so will just monitor for the moment. Thanks again
Glad it's up. I would recommend hub protect at this point. If something happens you get a new hub. Also local backups DO NOT back up the radios, cloud back up does. So if the hub does eventually die, unless you have a cloud backup, you won't be able to restore the radios and you will have to re pair all of your devices. $ 29 bux a year is worth it.
While I commend and support in general @rlithgow1 's suggestion for a subscription... In the end, it depends on your use case and the likelihood of needing to use the features the subscription can offer..
If you need these backup features, then go for it... but at least consider your requirements, before signing up... Not to say there is anything wrong with the subscription offerings, only to go in with your eyes open to what you are paying for and whether it will suit your needs. Nothing more than that..
The key decision point is how valuable your time is. With Hub Protect not only that you get a free (same model) hub if the existing dies, but if you have a spare hub on hand, you could be back online in 10 minutes or less when disaster strikes. In my books that's a no brainer, but again, I might be a little biased here
Just a little...
But good (accurate) points to add to my very general ones... ... Not that I need to validate comments by HE staff...
