UPDATE: After seven and a half hours of just sitting there and not
requesting and IP address the C7 suddenly decided to reconnect.
All seems to be working again. I can't explain the long outage.
y hubitat c7 stopped communicating via ethernet sometime during last night.
I cannot log into the hub and external services like Alexa cannot connect.
It is still running the my ZigBee network, so my automation apps are running OK.
Tracing it's MAC address, my TP-Link Deco mesh shows it as an offline client.
I tried replacing the ethernet cable, no change.
I tried removing power and rebooting, no change
I plugged the ethernet cable directly into my internet hub, no change, no IP address assigned.
I tried the same with my phone using a USB-C ethernet adapter, no change.
I tried pressing the button on the underside for 7 seconds and letting it reboot, again no change.
My HUBITAT c7 just does not want to get an IP address from its ethernet connection.
I don't know what to try next, I am out of ideas .
Help !
Thanks
Cheers Mike....
I went back to the router and yes green lights flickering in the port.
So I tried connecting to my Hubitat and it all works again
7 and a half hours of dead Ethernet and then suddenly my C7 wakes up!
I really cannot explain why the very long pause in the C7's ethernet port
does your router/switch show the port details? the hubs connect over fast ethernet (100 Mb), so if it was trying to use gig (1000 Mb/1 Gb), it could've been a speed mismatch where it finally was able to negotiate the fast ethernet?
