I’ve been experiencing significant issues with my Hubitat hub over the last 45 to 60 days.
My hub is currently running firmware version 2.4.3.137, and it detects an available update to version 2.5.0.159. However, every time I attempt the update, it fails and never completes successfully.
In addition to the failed updates, my hub has become extremely unreliable:
-
The entire system is very laggy.
-
Apps that use Scenes frequently fail to execute correctly.
-
Sometimes everything suddenly starts working normally for a short period, but then it becomes sluggish again.
-
Several of my remote switches either respond very slowly or don’t respond at all.
-
Motion sensors that trigger lighting work inconsistently—sometimes they function perfectly, and other times they don’t trigger anything.
-
Overall automation reliability has become very poor.
For reference, everything was working great approximately 45 to 60 days ago, and these issues seemed to develop over time.
As part of my troubleshooting, I have power-cycled and rebooted the Hubitat hub multiple times. Rebooting appears to resolve about 90% of the issues, but only temporarily. The hub typically performs normally for anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes, after which the lag returns and the automation failures begin again.
I have also verified that my home network does not appear to be the problem. My Internet connection is stable, and all other network-connected devices throughout my house are operating normally without any connectivity or performance issues.
Could you please help me determine:
-
Why the firmware update to 2.5.0.159 continues to fail.
-
Whether the failed firmware update or my current firmware version could be related to the severe lag and Scene execution issues.
-
Whether there are any logs or diagnostic information you’d like me to provide to help identify the cause.
Thank you for your assistance. I appreciate any guidance you can provide and look forward to getting my system back to the level of reliability it had a couple of months ago.
