I own the first habitat version. Today I upgraded the firmware. Now it will not boot up. Nothing works. What do I do now?
Is the LED on the hub lit up? What color is it?
I have a C4 and have encountered a similar issue, hub loops forever saying its rebooting soon or something like that, when attemting to manually reboot the hub or installing updated firmware. Sometimes I get a normal reboot, sometimes not.
Although this may be a risky procedure, removing power for 30 seconds, then repowering the hub seems to force a reboot. YMMV. I've done some soft resets with a database restore but it does not fix the issue.
Should the hub not reboot after resetting power, try going into the Hub Diagnostic Tool at your hub's ip address:8081
You will need your hub's Mac address.
There is a blue light on the front of the hub
I have have powered down multiple times. It keeps coming back that I cannot find the hub.
How do you usually browse to the hub?
When you say nothing works, can you give an example?
Are you sure that is still the ip address of your hub?
Since the blue light is on, that indicates it's booting up. It's been that way for 24 hours. Have fun plugged it for over an hour and plugged it back in to no effect.
It seems like I am going to have to figure out how to do a full factory reset but I do not know how to do that.
I agree this is the next question to answer.
Try browsing to http://hubitat.local
If you know how to access your router’s user interface, you can also check for a list of connected clients to see if Hubitat shows up there, possibly with a different IP address than you were expecting.
When I go to? http://hubitat.local/, I get a message saying I cannot reach site.
Habitats Mac address shows up on my routers interface showing the correct IP address.
In that case, try http://192.168.1.186:8081
That’s the hub’s diagnostic interface and sometimes it can load even if the main platform interface can’t.
There still comes up with " The site cannot be reached". Basically anything to that IP address gives the same message.
Is there any way to reset the hub back to factory settings manually. At this time I don't mind resetting my devices as if it is a new hub?
If it were me, I'd buy a new hub and start over with a much better hub.
Press the reset button on the bottom of the hub for 7 seconds (it will be the only round hole out of all the square ones) Use a paper clip or toothpick. This will reset ONLY the network interface. After that try going to http://hubitat.local
Edit: it should boot with blue light then turn green when connected.
Unless it has been renamed.
Then try http://theHubName.local
Presumably the OP is referring to a C4 hub, which doesn’t have a network reset button on the bottom.
This is also probably not the case for OP’s hub. The LED on a C4 hub stays blue even when the platform is running. Red is bad, as is an LED that’s not on at all.
Can you use another device on your network to try pinging the hub’s IP address?
