MakerAPI can be a heavy load if you are pushing a lot of data through it, but normally isn't the culprit. What does your App and Device log Statistics pages look like?
I'll have to look for the specs but IIRC the only real difference was the 700 Zwave chip. Don't get a real HP boost until you go to the C8 Pro in my experience.
The processor is the same until you get to the C8 Pro.
The C4 seems slower for some reason. The C5, C7 , and C8 all use the same SOC and amount of ram. THE C8 Pro give a fairly big bump in CPU performance that will range from 20% to double the speed depending on the task. It also gives 2GB of ram vs the 1GB of the previous models.
If you want more CPU horsepower the The C8 pro is what is needed.
My C4 is faster. I read about 64bit vs 32 bit Java? and how they use the hub's memory. Plus the C4 has another SOC dedicated to Zigbee/Z-wave with it's own memory(Nortek)
That is contrary to my experience with mine. I got a C4 for development and fairly quickly regretted it. Though it was fine with minimal stuff for developement anytime i put much load on it the performance just crumbled. Memory on it is also odd compared to newer devices as it leans more on swap space.
The 64bit vs 32 bit jvm works against it actually as well. We don't do computationally intensive tasks that could benefit from using the 64 bit registers and because of it being built as 64 bit more memory is used for everything.
Staff has alao confirmed the SOC is the same between the C4, C5, C7, and C8.
Since I saw that this was a temporary condition (only on startup), I've tended to ignore this. If it comes up again, I will try and do more digging on this matter.
How did you do with your Zigbee revamp?
I myself also did a Zigbee revamp.
I found that if you have a lot of well placed repeaters, you don't need a power level of greater than 4.
Also, I found even though I had close neighbours on the same zigbee channel, it didn't interfere with my zigbee network.
I also found more interference with my neighjbour's WiFi than with his Home Assistant (probably) setup.
I also found that the network map from @dandanache was a great tool to asses how good a repeater my devices were.
