Hub Load Severe and Ecobee Suite

I've had the new C-8 up and running for about a month or so. It was fine until I installed Ecobee Suite. Now I'm getting Hub Load Severe errors and the radios have become intermittent. They come up every day or two and are cleared by a restart of the hub. I don't really understand (in depth) how to track it down, but it seems like the memory is fine and there shouldn't be any reason for it to throw the errors.

C-8 Pro version 2.4.3.176

I had the same issue with my C-7 about a year ago. It ran fine for years, then I installed Ecobee Suite and started getting elevated and severe errors. They started the same day I installed it. I tried adjusting settings and removing remote sensors (only monitoring the therms), but nothing changed it. The day I uninstalled it, I stopped getting the errors.

I've tried adjusting polling settings and every other "fix" I could find, but nothing seems to help. Is there anything I can do to make this work? Is it just my particular setup? I have about 180 devices (mix of zigbee, z wave, lutron, and virtual). Nothing crazy complicated in the rules or apps. I just don't understand.

It is likely something in your specific setup. The problem is it can be very hard to lock in on what is causing it.

The stats you are showing above don't really point to anything particular. It can be deciving to see ecobee suite at the top of the list with 51% of busy. The reason that is insignificant is that the line right above that table shows the total busy for local apps is 2.8%. So 1.4% for ecobee suite is not much. If you have the ecobee suite polling interval set to 1 min it is probably fine.

The problem is there are many tasks on the hub that don't fall into the tracking provided by the apps/driver stats that hub load does. What are the hub load values when ecobee isn't installed? Ecobee suite may just be the final straw.

One thing i will say is most of the time there are a few key items that seem to be heavy hitters to potentially cause load issues.

  1. Any lan integration
  2. Heavy Maker API tasks
  3. Very busy DB activity

Understanding everything your hub is doing would be critical.

I uninstalled Ecobee Suite about two hours ago. I realize this isn't quite a full report based on the short time frame, but this might give a little insight.

I can't say I understand it, but the numbers don't look too different to me. The reason I'm pointing it to Ecobee Suite is that I can install most any other app, built in or developer and not have an issue. ES seems to be the only integration that causes the error. It was that way on the C7 and now the C-8 Pro.

Interesting.

Looking through the to screenshots of the memory and load values some of os memory numbers appear better after removing Ecobee suite. The java numbers dont look any better though and in some cases still go under 100mb

Seems to me like maybe something is comsuming your memory aggressively.

How are you collecting the memory could you adjust it to every 30 seconds. Could be interesting to see how much it is swinging.

I do have a rather large (maybe) Lutron integration. 69 Lutron devices. They don't do a lot though, just switches and dimmers, some that work off motion lighting and others that don't. Not much on and off though the day. It is LAN from the Lutron hub through the network into hubitat (LAN).

I don't know how to adjust the memory collection. I'd be willing to do it, but have no idea where to start with that. Could you tell me where to find it?

Just as a follow up, uninstalled two days ago and worked around the thermostat mode switch. This is the memory and stats from about a day and a half of not running Ecobee Suite.
