Hub Link Not Working

Brand new to Hubitat - I installed it a few hours ago, and have experienced two issues which I'll address is separate threads as they are unrelated.

First, I am having a issue with Hub Link. I installed Hub Link on HE and Send Hub Events on ST. Although the switches I selected did appear on HE, they don't work. I looked up some old posts, and followed some suggestions, but had no success. I uninstalled Hub Link and Send Hub Events, then reinstalled both - enabling debugging and sending mode changes.

This is the ST Log (it does not appear to be getting anything from HE):

The HE log indicates the virtual switches were created and that on/off were pressed. (I tried to copy the log but ran into issues since it contained links).

Would appreciate help on this. I feel like I'm missing something basic.

Going back to the Hub Link logs after posting, I noticed there were now connection errors. This is the Hub Link log (first copied to Notepad to remove the links that prevented me from posting previously):

Seems like you might have a configuration error. Have you reviewed the docs for Send Hub Events and Hub Link?

I reviewed both docs. (And found an omission in the Send Sub Events doc. Between step 6 and 7 there should be a step to install the Smartapp).

In any case, I had issues with this, with devices responding slowly (all within 15 feet of the hub), with the Dashboard not populating at all, with Virtual Devices not able to control physical... I created a very simple rule in Simple Lighting where one physical switch turns on another - also didn't work. I must have a defective unit. I've requested a replacement from Amazon.
