I updated my hub to latest version and it appears I have a new, non-dismissible, permanent notification to register my hub. Is this intended?
I don't need any hub registration, and the red notification is hiding important notifications like software updates.
Is this a bug? Clicking the bell used to clear the red notification indicator.
Please confirm which hub firmware and hardware version, exactly.
ETA: When you say you “don’t need any hub registration” do you mean that the hub isn’t registered and you don’t intend to? Or it’s already been registered and so the flag is inaccurate?
That number will increment with each additional alert. Clicking on the bell will list all of them. So I don’t think anything is being hidden.

I have made the decision to keep this hub "offline". Despite it having internet access, I plan on using no online features, registration included. It's possible some apps use cloud API, is that why?
Previously to this update, it listed "unread" messages. Clicking it unfolded the notifications, which were considered "read" and thus the counter was reset and the icon became gray again. Essentially, there's no more "read" state for me. And seeing how one of these notifications (please register) never goes away anyway, it sort of makes my red indicator permanent, undermining the point of a red light.

There's no "read" flag for the alerts. Some of the alerts can be dismissed, but they are a minority. We don't want alerts like failing backup notice to go away, they are meant to be persistent and annoying until resolved.
So, you want to use the hub locally and have a way to permanently dismiss the “register me” nag, correct?
