Hub for Sale -- C7, $55

I'm reducing the price to $55, which includes shipping via priority mail to US residents. If nobody's interested at this price here, I will put it on eBay, I guess (ugh). PM me if interested. Thanks.

My original post from a year ago is below. I've kept it because it explains why I'm selling. After my post of a year ago I put the HE (C7) back in its box and up on the shelf, where I soon forgot all about it. It still works like new, which it essentially is, in terms of how much use it's seen. So it's for sale (to US residents only). All the original parts (there aren't very many!) and the box included, of course. $75 includes priority mail shipping within one-two working days of receiving your check. No doubt there are more modern ways of sending money, and I am willing to entertain suggestions. I'm not interested in going the eBay way. I will do as suggested here to reset/deregister it before sending the Hub on its merry way. If this price is too high, I'll lower it after a few weeks. If interested, send me a PM. Thanks for reading.

I bought my HE without fully thinking it through, and after verifying that it worked, I've basically not used it at all. I don't own any Zigbee or Z-wave devices and don't really anticipate buying any. I've been able to -- mostly -- satisfy my "smart home" desires with Google Home, Wyze, Homebridge Eve and Apple Home. Yes, my setup can be a bit messy at times and redundant but it's generally okay and I think I'm more likely to tend toward the Apple Homekit direction in the future anyway. And frankly I just think I'm wasting too much time on the whole "smart home" thing. So -- if there a way to sell my HE on this website or should I take it to eBay?

You can post a for sale in the Lounge area (Lounge - Hubitat), then edit the title to SOLD when it's been sold so you don't get to many PMs after. Give details on the hub version so they know what you are selling.

After it's sold, you should reset it and have it unlinked from your account via customer service.

I'm an apple fan and use homekit for siri but no way would I use native HK devices and automations.

6 homepods + 2 mini's.

At the moment Hubitat although not perfect is the best out there currently But good luck on finding what works for you

Yeah if your not going to use any Z-Wave/Zigbee devices there is really no compelling reason to go with HE. The only suspect part of that plan is on the Google side - who know which direction they will go in potentially messing things up. They've certainly done it before. I'm guessing the Apple side will be around for a while - just really no sophistication and premium price for HK products. I LOVE homebridge though! In fact was using it with HE even before exposing any devices to an Apple Hub. Wonder what will happen with the Threads initiative?

The reason I got into HE was to eliminate reliance on the "cloud" as much as possible from my home automation setup. With every passing "Wink" or IFTTT debacle I am feeling more validated in this decision. Not to say I don't use these (cloud) kinds of services, I do but if they go away my important stuff will continue to work as long as the hardware holds out..

Also make sure that you get HE support to deregister your hub (if already set up) so the next guy doesn't get an unwelcome surprise.
