Hub dead

Dear support,

My hub seems to be dead.

No lights,
Tried alternative socket
Unplugged and left for a few mins

No activity at all.

May I ask for some help please?

What colour is the led on the front.
Can you reach the hub via port 8081.

@anon20826068 is right, you might get some help here that will solve your problem but only an email to support actually generates a ticket.

However it’s Sunday, so I would hope even @bobbyD gets a day to rest rather than respond to posts here .

If OP hasn’t tried a different power supply, then I agree that’s a good next step to rule out as the source of the problem.

I had checked an alternate power socket, but not an alternate plug. Just moved the cable to a spare usb plug and power is restored.

I feel a bit daft that I didn't check that before posting but appreciate the replies which reminded me to do my troubleshooting properly.

We've all been there.
At least you working again and you won't forget to check that in the future. :+1:

Just make sure it can put out at least 1A at 5V.

Also, please be sure to download a backup of the hub from its settings menu. Always nice to know you can at least restore apps, drivers, automations, etc... even if one has to re-pair devices, should a hub replacement ever be required in the future.

Should change the title of this thread to Hub Undead.

@aaiyar, @Eric.C.Miller You guys are killing me, I'm running entire sketches in my head over and over. And that's verbatim...I spent a LOT of time listening to them in my youth, and even performed several sketches (including The Dead Parrot of course) w/a group of friends in our high school's talent show. My whole morning will be lost to this... "I just spent four hours burying the cat."
