Just had another crash on my hub last night, the first time was 3 days ago where I woke up to the blue light. I thought maybe it was just a once off however it did appear to happen around 3am just when the cloud backup would run. This morning I woke up again to the web interface being down but the diagnostics tool was available. I rebooted from diagnostics and eveyrhting is back running again. I’ve not added any new devices for some time and just recently updated to the latest version. I’m running. A C8 hub (not pro) ,i’ve attached some logs from the hub and as you can see system startup just after a backup (manual reboot)
Yep you are correct which is the same time it crashed the last time. You can see the is being around 3am backup complete and a few hours later me rebooting the hub. Same thing happened 3 days ago.
Hmmmm actually you are right. Ok I clearly need to do some digging. I’ll check the logs when I get home I have one other thing running a 3 which might be the problem. I’ll report back , thanks for checking not sure how I missed that one.
Due to the recent issue which resulted in the .140 build being released, I would suggest doing a soft reset with the log purge option selected in the diagnostic tool. Take a new local backup first and download it to your computer. Once reset and rebooted restore from the local backup (do not need to restore the cloud radios). This will clean out any bloated logs and also clean up the database by importing a backup.
I only had the blue light once, this morning I used the troubleshooting interface to reboot. The main reason I was thinking 3am is because I have an external influxdb running and the last update was around 3am just before the backup. I had noticed in the released a fix to resolve a crash when running a backup. I might have put two and two together and got ten so I’ll double check my logs when I get back later tonight.
I’ll follow the restore from backup procedure and get Zabbix to monitor the web interface to detect when it actually stops.
Thank you , I will check the logs and follow these setups and report back. It can’t hurt restoring from backup.
I’m presuming the main hub thread stopped with an exception of some sort since the main web interface was down. Does anyone know of a way to find these logs ?
Thank you, I’ll make sure to post full details once I have everything collected and double check how dates work
The hub has been perfect the only change I made recently was to add a notification once the hub completes a backup. I have since removed this alert I’m presuming this wouldn’t cause the hub to sit down.
Ok hub reset, logs cleared and local backup restored. Let’s see this goes. One thing I noted the cloud backup was set to run at 3:15am and the last log in the local log database before a reload is attached. As you can see it stopped in and around the cloud backup time. I’ve reset the backup time to run every day at 4:30am to see if the hub will crash again at that time. (Hopefully not)
I’ll report back tomorrow, thanks again to everyone.
