Hub crashed….now won’t link back to Alexa and google

My internet went down for a week which some how resulted in the c7 hub crashing needing to be restored. Managed to restore from a backup however now google or Alexa won’t re link back up at all.

I’ve removed the apps in hubitat, then google or Alexa and re synced them but it still fails with the state error. Any ideas? Thanks!

It is hard to determine what the problem is without additional information, but reading between the lines, failing with the "state error" often means that you are trying to authorize a device that is incompatible, or is missing the required state. I would make sure that all devices you are trying to authorize work as expected from Device Details page.

If you continue to have problems check this document to learn more about the kind of details you might want to provide so that others can help you get your hub fully functional again:

Thanks Bobby, I’m at a loss as it was all working before the hub crashed. I really don’t have a clue why it work sync

Can you screenshot or copy/paste the exact error and logs?

Did you have DHCP reservations for the devices, as well as the hub? Have those ip's changed?

This is the error I get from google

no just the hub which is back on the same ip, its all very odd!

Not really, if the devices changed ip (which can happen if you don't have them reserved or static) then hubitat has a hard time finding them

No devices have changed ip just hub did when it crashed which is now back on the same ip.

Looks like I’m not getting the oauth token or something to that effect

@bobbyD ive had a further look and the hubitat app on iPhone won’t connect to the hub either. When I select hub info it states a different ip from the one that has been assigned statically. The one I’ve assigned statically will work via the browser no problem which makes me think this is also linked to the Alexa/google issue. Any ideas?

do you see the hub if you go to my.hubitat.com ? When you get there don't click find hubs, click registered hubs.. Is it greyed out?

This is so odd, which I knew what crashed the hub In the first place. Changed the static ip dns to cloud flare rebooted and tried your idea. Hub showed up on the correct ip address, tried adding Alexa and got further…..then failed. Tried a second time and it worked! However did the same with google and it won’t work at all…..will try again over the next few days

Do a DHCP reservation instead. It's more reliable. (Sometimes you think the DNS is set and it doesn't take when you do static, also you have a central place to look at all the reservations)
