Hub C8-Pro all of a sudden weak Zigbee Signal

C8-Pro; Platform version 2.4.3.176.

I recently started experiencing Zigbee network issues where my devices were sporadically reachable. I installed Dan Danache's awesome Zigbee Map tool to troubleshoot and validate things after testing the changes I made in my troubleshooting process. The tool shows that my LQI's are low and only hardwired Zigbee devices are making connections to the Hubitat directly. The issue with this is that my Hubitat used to make connections directly to some devices, and my 2 hardwired Zigbee devices were used to supplement other remote devices in other parts of the home. With that setup, I had full coverage of my home and a strong Zigbee network. Now, I only seem to be able to have devices connect to the hardwired Zigbee devices and none directly to the hub. This was not the case when I first installed the C8-Pro last year. I am starting to conclude that my ZigBee network is problematic in some way (perhaps the ZigBee Radio is weak now?). If anyone could help with this issue, that would be greatly appreciated. Here are the steps I have taken to troubleshoot so far.

  1. Scanned Wifi spectrum to see if there are any overlapping SSID's that could cause trouble for my Zigbee channel (Channel 16 with a 20 power setting). There were none, but I moved to Zigbee channel 25 with a power setting of 8 just to be safe. I also made sure my existing access points were using Wifi Channel 1 or 6. No improvement.
  2. I swapped antennas between the Zwave and Zigbee side. No improvement.
  3. I relocated the hub (and used another power adaptor) to another room out of my network closet and the hub connected to a Zigbee device in the same room, but nothing else. There was a Zigbee device one room over, but it did not connect.
  4. Deleted my 2 hardwired Zigbee devices and added them back in. No change.
  5. I also submitted a warranty request for the Hubitat team to look at my hub yesterday, but no response so far, so I thought I'd ask for help in this forum.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

How many Zigbee devices do you have? How many of them are mains-powered? The mains powered devices acts as Zigbee mesh network repeaters, to strengthen the network. You may want to add a few more to your home if you only have a couple currently.

A quick thing you can try is to perform an orderly shutdown of the hub. Then remove power from the hub. I would then unplug each of your mains-powered Zigbee devices for about 30s, then plug those back in. Wait about 20 minutes and the. Power the hub back on. Give it an hour or so for all of the Zigbee devices to try and find an optimal route back to the hub’s Zigbee controller.

Thank you Ogiewon! I followed the steps you outlined shutdown, remove power cable, etc. and the Zigbee devices were able to establish the proper connections to both the Hub and the mains-powered devices. Things seem to be working properly now.

But to answer your question, I had a total of 11 Zigbee devices, 9 battery powered, and 2 mains-powered.

Thank you very much for the help!
