Are there some significant bugs in HSM currently? I can’t seem to use any of the more advanced features in the home alarm system.
Issues:
color lights won’t change to red
lights won’t flash
txt notifications are delayed
Can’t figure how to do the following:
repeating intruder alert through Sonos speakers until alarm is disabled
auto clearing the intrusion alarm so you can arm the system again and get notifications (family many times forgets to turn off alarm prior to opening door)
use my fire tablets mounted on walls as keypads to disable alarm
I mounted a SmartThings button near our main door (somewhat inconspicuous) and set it up so that one click disarms and cancels active alerts. A double press sets it back to armed-home.
Now if you have Fire tablets mounted and running a Hubitat dashboard, you can do everything (arming, disarming, silencing) with a press of the HSM status tile.
Did you use the "Use this switch to cancel alerts" option in HSM? Or are you doing this through rules with the button?
If the option then I am unsure if that works. I had a virtual device I would turn on and it would not reset the alarm-intrusion alert. I could arm the system but it did nothing for intrusion detection unless you cleared the intrusion.
If you are having issues with a color light, that's on the light not HSM. I have no trouble getting color light to turn red from HSM. Same with lights won't flash. This is a function of the light driver, and not all drivers support flash. txt notifications being delayed would have to do with what you are using for notifications. None of the issues are HSM issues.
Repeating alerts will be available in the next release. Auto-clearing is not supported, nor would that make sense. Burglar enters home, and alert auto-clears? There are both cancel switch and cancel button options, either of which could be included in a Dashboard for wall mounted tablet. You could write a rule in RM that cancels alerts based on presence arrival.
So does the cancel alerts enable you to arm the system again?
I am using the TP-Link bulbs and with Dave Guts new driver it supports the HE RGB color bulb requirements now. Scenes works and is great. Also I tried using a Zigbee RGB bulb and no color showed up when intrusion was set off.
I have Zooz Dimmer Switches throughout the house. In ST the flashing would just dim on/off those lights. In HE does this do something similar with dimmer switches?
Appreciate all your help btw as I move the last of my home automation to HE.
