I have a simple water Alert setup in HSM
My goal is to be alerted only once for every water detected event, even if the event clears and returns. Originally I was planning on using a Rule and a GV but I would like to try and use HSM if I can.
So my question is: How do the two options in the "Repeat this alert message until cancelled" differ in how they respond to an event?
Also, how would one "cancel" the above?
What two options are you referring to?
Either "Repeat this alert message until cancelled" is selected or not.
Under what conditions would it repeat if the option was selected.
If the option were not selected would it only alert once? What if the event clears and occurs again?
John
When you select 'Repeat this alert' it gives you a number of seconds upon which to repeat it. With that selected, it repeats the alert message every x seconds until the alert is canceled or disarmed.
Without that selected, it sends out the alert once when it happens. If there are subsequent events of sensors involved, it will send out the alert again.
It will alert on intrusion (or water or smoke) events as long as it is armed whenever they occur. For example, if the door opens it alerts. Close the door and open it again, it alerts. Cancelling an alert will not disarm it. Disarming it will cancel alerts as well.
Thank you for the explaination.
I may have to move to a Rule and GV for the moisture sensor. I'll have to test.
I'm concerned a condition on the edge might sent repeated alerts even when "Repeat this alert" is not selected.
Can't say if this is worth considering in the HSM settings.
