HSM stopped working when I woke up this am

Rookie and very frustrated with this system. Just got he HE a few days ago. I had HSM set up and everything was working perfectly. The alarm the devices and notification all working great. I could set the alarm from the PC, MAc, Fire dashboard no problems. I set it for arm night. Got up in the am and disarmed it- seemed fine. When I tried to reset it- nothing. It will not arm when pressing button from dashboard or directly in the apps page.

I checked all the devices and they are working.
I rebooted everything still nothing.
When I try to arm it sends notification as expected (open window which is open) but the state never changes to armed night or away.- it just says disarmed. I have a HSM attribute tile in the dashboard that just says disarmed regardless. Same from HSM app.
Set arm and tried to trigger the siren but nothing. I can turn the siren on/off from the device page.
Try to refresh still nothing.

Everything was working perfectly the night before. So frustrated.

Any help greatly appreciated.

This is what happened. I didn’t mention that when I woke up about 4am I turned off the system but the opened 3 windows to turn on the whole house fan, then tried to re arm.

I have the notification for arming failure set to notify any open contacts. I didn’t realize that that feature evidently stops the arming.

What I was wanting is just to notify any open contacts but go ahead and arm. A lot of times a window will be open at night if running the house fan but all the other contacts would be closed. The open windows have a physical stop to prevent entry.

Thanks for any input.

Yeah, that's been requested a few times by myself and a few other members of the forum. The only thing I can say is that it isn't available as an option presently. You can build a Rule Machine rule to notify when a contact is open and the system arms and then remove the notification from HSM. That would allow the system to complete the arming process successfully.

Thanks for that.

I might try that at some point but right now I’m fairly overwhelmed with this thing. I looked at rule machine but not ready for all that quite yet.

Seems like what we are trying to do would be pretty much a basic necessity for any alarm system.

The idea that we came up with at the time was 2 fold.

  1. Have a selectable list of devices to enable the arming failure for
  2. Bypass the arming failure and arm the system anyway if the system was armed again with a set period of time, like 5 minutes.

But as of yet, no movement on that request. But Thanks for bringing it up again. Maybe we'll get closer to "critical mass" on user requests.

Great idea. That would be awesome.
