How to trigger a switch in separate building?

Looking for advice on how to trigger soffit lights on my barn with the house lights. My barn is about 150' away from the house and both are metal pole barn siding. Im using Inovelli dimmer switchs for the house soffit lights. Rule machine triggers lights on at sunset and off at 11:30p. I want to trigger the barn lights in the same rule if possible. Obviously zwave isn't making it that far. I have Linksys Velop mesh wifi on the house that extend to the barn by CAT6 to another node so same network. Can I use a wifi switch in the barn and point to that in the rule? Or any better ideas? Don't want a separate hub in my barn as I don't think there is much else beside these lights that ill automate.

The wifi kasa switches have worked well for me over Christmas. I don't remember if they have to be in the same subnet as the hub though, if that is even an issue in your case.

If they have the old Firmware they are even local, with the community driver.

Easiest HE supported LAN solution would probably be a Shelly WiFi product.

The Shelly 2.5 is UL listed and handles 2 x 10A circuits, handy for a second light circuit if it's going in a dual gang box.

I have a pole barn of sorts (all metal walls and roof) about 130+ feet from my house. I have zigbee and zwave devices in the barn that work fine. I have a covered deck on the back of my house. I put a zigbee plug out there to act as a repeater. I also have a couple Zwave lights out there. Half way to my barn I have a post light with a Zwave plug in a plastic junction box....also a repeater. I have a window in the barn which sort of faces the deck on the house. I put both a zwave and zigbee plug-in devices in that window to catch the signal and relay it to the interior devices. Works great for at least 2 years.

I had the same issue with a workshop that was on the other side of the farm property. I ended up using Hub Mesh (one hub in the workshop and the other in the house). Used a Wifi extender with a Yagi antenna on each side (originally is was a cantenna) to get wifi there and then the two hubs communicate. Each location has it's own Z-wave network.

I think I'll get one of the Shelly devices and test it. See how it does with my wife setup. Thanks for the input!

I have network/internet in the barn through the cat6 I ran between my wifi mesh nodes. That makes it the same network out there so I was hopeful that a single wifi switch would be all I'd need. My understanding is that the hubitat doesn't communicate directly to the wifi switch through an internal radio but over the LAN and the router. With that I was hopeful the switch in the barn would hear it. Hate to through in another hub in the barn for a single light circuit if a wifi switch would work.

May be able to use a virtual switch on HE and a couple of Alexa routines (don't have to have an Alexa device) to do a WiFi switch.

Strong WiFi in there already? My goto solution for a wide variety of tasks is to use a nodemcu with konnected.
