I have bought a Frient Smart Button type: SBTZB-110. It has only one button but I would like to use not only ¨push¨ but also ¨hold¨ and push twice or more.
The device is in the devicelist (thats why I bought it) and works fine as far as only using push for 1 one button. In the device-page I see only ¨Push¨ and ¨Release¨ button. When trying to set up a Basic Button Controller I do not get more then ¨Push¨ and ¨Release¨ to work with.
Can someone explain me how to set up a rule with ¨holding the button¨ or ¨more pushes¨.
I see if I can attach some screenshots here.
First one from the Device page:
So I tried Rule Machine to get more options. There I could choose ¨Double Tapped¨and ¨Hold¨ but nothing happens whit both options. Only ¨Push¨ seems to work here. What am I doing wrong?
Does the device actually support these options? If not, the driver will not expose these capabilities, and most apps will see that and not offer things you cannot use.
Some things, like pushing twice or more, may be doable with an automation on the hub. Others, like the difference between a plain push and a hold, are best done with a feature on the device (though you can also make a somewhat fragile workaround on the hub if the device offers push and release only -- and does so for every event -- by calculating the time difference on release or something similar).
Hi Robbert. Thanks for answering.
I expected all these devices would have all these options, but you are probably right that the device might not send the wanted signal. I will ask the manufacture about the options (maybe a parameter?)
It is (in general) a pity that there is so little info about the the capability's of the devices, one would like to know before buying such. The fragile workaround goes a little to far for me, I better buy one more if needed.
And quickly I got an answer from Frient: Unfortunately, the button doesn't have an option to send "double-clicked" telegrams.
So, I asked them to write such info on the product page.
I think I buy one button more to trigger another action, because I like the look of the button and it works well (fast). So we can close this thread.
