Yup, I use it for that a lot, actually. I use it more as a built-in variable than I do to restrict rule execution (although I use it for that sometimes, too).
For a single bit, it's versatile.
Here is an example where I use PB as a simple boolean variable to ensure I do not receive false notifications for my dryer cycle being completed. PB is not used as part of a restriction.
Ye...but you're not using it as a restriction. Otherwise, if it was true, the false part of your rule couldn't fire.
Correct. I rarely use restrictions on any automations.
